If
setting up your page (ON SITE SEO) is the
FOUNDATION to SEO,
then LINK
BUILDING would be the BACKBONE!
Yes, link building. It
works like this. The more links you have to your website,
the higher your rankings go!
For example, suppose you have a site called,
Louie's Pizza. You put up a website and hope for traffic!
Not happening! Why? Because people type in "Pizza", and
Pizza Hut comes up first! Not because their site is nicer,
not because they
pay Google,
but because they simply have more inbound links than
you do! So, here's the truth! If you want to be on
top, you either need more links, or more targeted
links. For example. if you are selling Pizza in
New York, you don't want
to target links that say, "Pizza", you
want to target links that say, "New York
Pizza".
99.9% of all PEOPLE
build links the wrong way! MEANING ,
their
links are practically
worthless when it comes to rankings!
Here's why, in a link,
such as
this
one, the
link part says, "this one". When most webmasters trade
links, they will do something like this! ... These are
both wrong because the "Anchor Text" or link part is
telling the search engines that the sites are about
"CLICK HERE" and "eBay".

People who
have never heard of eBay, don't just type in eBay ! And they

The reason for this is called
the "Anchor Text". The anchor text is the blue part of the
link. This tells Google
and the
other search engines what they are linking to. So, for
example if you were to start a new online auction
company and went to compete with eBay, your
link's anchor texts need to say, "Online
Auction"! In fact, did you know that
EBay isn't even ranked number 1 for the
keywords "Online Auction"? They bring in billions of
dollars in revenue but they
are 8th on the list! It is good thing they
spend millions on TV advertising I guess!:) Just
kidding eBay,
using
your great website as an example!
So, if you want to get to the TOP
of
the Search Engines,
you need the
correct settings on
your website and a
BOAT LOAD of
